Artist Vision  

Artist Stephen Oldfield is known for creating contemporary figurative, landscape, and abstract paintings in original oil media. His themes of motivation come from the importance of light, the simplicity that surrounds us everywhere, with morphing forms of figuration evolving from within his landscapes. 

It is these Landscape that play the pivotal role in the artists initial work, almost as a stimulus to create the motif, feeding his process towards the aesthetic placement of both line and colour, conjuring varied and almost contorted forms, from which figurative images transcend. 

Supported with the concepts of scientific inspiration. The dynamic connecting qualities that allow us as human vessels to transmit and absorb light, becoming one with others and nature, whilst also creating contrasting juxtapositions of scales, and form.
